Mug - "Jantelagen" - Goodbye!!
 
The "Jantelage" formulates in words the unwritten law, which says that you must not stand out and think that you are better than others in any way. The Jantelage is linked to the culture in many places in Scandinavia. However, similar phenomena exist in many places in the world.
     The concept "Jantelagen" was coined by the Danish author Aksel Sandemose. He lived between 1899 – 1965 and wrote several novels during his lifetime. In the novel En flyktning krysser sitt spor (A refugee crosses his path) which he wrote in 1933, he writes about a society in Denmark which he names as Jante.
